Drake-Osa

An untouched rainforest and the natural beauty of the Osa Peninsula make this region one of the most beautiful of Costa Rica. Drake Bay is a pristine bay, with exuberant vegetation, located north of the Osa Peninsula, 20 km from the entrance of Corcovado National Park. It is named after Sir Francis Drake, who according to legend, hid in the seventeenth century, one of its most famous treasures....

Far from the main axes of the country, Drake can be reached by road in the dry season. The sea and the Rio Sierpe, on which pass some boats, and a small landing strip are the only communication way during the green season (rainy season). You'll find lots of lodges from simple to luxurious, hotels specially devoted to big game fishing as well as small and green lodges among the most beautiful and spectacular in the whole country...

You can make a day trip to dive around the beautiful Isla de Cano, to release a memorable sea kayaking or river fishing. You can also go and discover dolphins and whales that inhabit the area or simply enjoy the beach and its clear waters. Not forgetting, of course, an exciting discovery of the Corcovado National Park, one of the most beautiful national parks of Costa Rica. For the more intrepids, a night out be needed to observe the fascinating wildlife of the area, home to many rare species and home to endangered species like the puma, jaguar, eagle Harpia "and "guacamaya escarlata.
