Rincón de la Vieja

This national park has an area of 14,083 hectares and contains nine volcanic cones and one lake.
A gravel road leads to the Rincon de la Vieja, going up from the dry lands of Guanacaste to the forested slopes of the volcano. At the heart of this National Park is a network of trails that lead visitors through the forest, to the discovery of several volcanic special features: small volcanic craters bubbling, fumaroles and glare sources.

One may go hiking or horseback riding through the park and discover the beautiful waterfalls in the forest, bathing in hot springs and learn to know the life of farmers and their flocks.
