Day 2

San José / Irazú Volcano National Park / Turrialba Volcano

Breakfast and get your 4x4 to departure to Turrialba. Tip:

Dominating the skyline of the city of Cartago, southwest of San José, is located at 11259.84 ft of altitude (3.432m); the route to the Irazú cross fertile agricultural areas of Costa Rica, where soils have been enriched by volcanic ash. The paved road ends a few hundred meters before the summit, there are trails that lead up to the crater. Because of its altitude, the summit of Irazú is often overlooked, towering above the clouds. In the midst of this wild landscape, vegetation begins to sprout only after the period of violent activity that took the volcano between 1962 and 1965. Continue to Turrialba and check in at your hotel.

Day 3

Turrialba, Limón Puerto Viejo

Puerto Viejo - Limón ride of 3h00 from Turrialba

Breakfast. Tip: Visit to Turrialba Volcano - Turrialba or other activities that will be proposed at the site, horseback riding at Finca Monte Claro is a plus. Then exit to the Caribbean coast. Check in at your hotel. Overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 4

Cahuita National Park

Breakfast. We offer a few different activities from the great tour menu arround. Visit the Cahuita National Park: South of Cahuita is one of the most beautiful places in the country. With its white sand beaches, palm trees bent toward the sea as a postcard and calm waters, this national park is an ideal place to stroll. It has a coral reef where you can admire sea fans, urchins, and a myriad of colorful fish and the parrot waves "Isabelita." In this land will discover many animals or howler monkeys, coatis, green ibis, herons Overnight at your hotel

Day 5

Gandoca Manzanillo National Park

Breakfast. We suggest you visit the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, located on the south of the town of Puerto Viejo, along the Caribbean coast, covers 12387 acres (5013 ha) of land of which 5.59 miles (9 km) of beautiful beaches and almost 11.000 acres (4436 ha) of sea. This protected zone extends to the border with Panama, including the town of Manzanillo, which consists of a school, a lobster restaurant and small houses of fishermen. A trail along the beach for 6 miles to Punta Mona, another west to Gandoca. The reserve is home to numerous streams and lakes and the only variety of this mangrove oysters in the mangroves of Central America.

Day 6 Port Viejo Limon / Arenal National Park

Breakfast, then out into the plains of San Carlos, getting to the town of La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano. Check in at the hotel.

Day 7

Arenal

Breakfast at the hotel. Then we suggest visiting the Arenal National Park. It’s a cone-shaped volcano, rising from the plains. This is the most active volcano in the country. During the day, often clouds of ash and smoke filled the sky above the crater. At night, when the sky is clear, eruptions of lava and rocks explode in the sky and fall along the cone. Afternoon dedicated to a great tour of the handling bridges in an unforgettable setting in front of the volcano.

We also suggest to bath in the wonderful hot springs of Tabacon and Baldi or cascades of hot water to 102° F (39° C) downing from the volcano. When the sky is clear, you will attend in this wonderful scene, the spectacle of incandescent lava tracing a path along the slopes of the volcano.

Day 8

Arenal / San José 3h00 drive from Arenal

Breakfast, then return to the capital for your departure flight.

If your flight is not in the afternoon, you can add a night in San José.
