Day 1 San José

Arrival to San José. Welcome at the airport by driver and transfer to your hotel in downtown.

Day 2 San Jose / Arenal Volcano

Arenal Volcano - 3h00 drive from San Jose

Breakfast, your 4x4 will be delivered at your hotel. Departure to the plains of San Carlos to continue to La Fortuna town and Arenal Volcano. Check in at the hotel.

Tip: Before you get to Arenal you can visit the wonderful waterfalls of La Paz Gardens: This beautiful park is located between 4429 ft and 4921 ft (1,350/1,500 meters) of altitude from where you can see a series of waterfalls, a butterfly farm, a frog, a garden of hummingbirds, toucans, monkeys, etc.

Day 3 Arenal

Tips:

1-     Visit the Arenal National Park. It is a cone-shaped volcano, rising from the plains. This is the most active volcano in the country. During the day, often clouds of ash and smoke filled the sky above the crater. At night, when the sky is clear, eruptions of lava and rocks explode in the sky and fall along the cone. Afternoon dedicated to a great tour of the suspension bridges in an unforgettable setting in front of the volcano.

2-    Bath in the wonderful hot springs of Tabacón and Baldi or cascades of hot water to 102° F (39° C) downing from the volcano. When the sky is clear, you will attend in this wonderful scene, the spectacle of incandescent lava tracing a path along the slopes of the volcano. Overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 4 Arenal National Park / Playa Potrero

Playa Potrero-3h00 drive from Arenal

Breakfast and then departure to Playa Potrero. It is a gray sandy bay and blue water with gentle waves, perfect for enjoying bathing, fishing, diving and other water sports in the sun. It features lush vegetation and mangrove estuary. This beach is near the beautiful Flamingo beach, which in turn offers a wealth of maritime services. Although tourism development has increased in recent years, is still a beach with a relaxed atmosphere. Lodging at your charming hotel.

 

DAYS 5 and 6

Playa Potrero

Breakfast. Days off to enjoy surrounded beaches: Flamingo, Tamarindo, Brasilito, Conchal, etc ... you can also discover Barra Honda National Park, or Diriá; take a horseback ride, canopy, diving and snorkeling, sport fishing.

Day 7 Potrero Beach / Nosara Beach

3h00 drive from Potrero Beach

Breakfast and departure to Nosara area: the beautiful beaches near Nosara are surrounded by a lush green belt with abundant birds and various representatives of the local fauna. This region has not suffered significant deforestation, partly due to the nearby wildlife reserve and in part by the real estate development, although this seems paradoxical. Several hundred foreigners are living in Nosara having the goal to protect the rainforest. The region of Nosara has nothing exceptional that sometimes you can see macaws, toucans, armadillos, monkeys, a few meters from the beach.

 

Days 8 and 9 Playa Nosara

Days off to enjoy the beach and many tours arround.

Tip: guided tour of the Ostonial National Wildlife Refuge; walk in the Biological Reserve of Nosara, Surf, canopy tour, etc ...

 

Day 10

Breakfast and departure to return to San Jose. Drop off the vehicle next to the airport and transfer for departure flight. If your flight is late you can add a night in San Jose.
