Itinerary

 

Day 1 (Wednesday) San Jose
Leaving Paris in regular flight. Meals on board. Welcome at the San Jose airport and transfer to your hotel. Check in at your hotel and welcome cocktail.
 
Day 2 (Thursday) San Jose / Poás Volcano / San Jose (1.30 on the road)
Breakfast and then departure to visit a coffee plantation in the mountains of Central Valley. You will witness the entire process of making coffee, from harvest to roasting and you can taste local products. Then start the Poás Volcano National Park tour. The Poás Volcano is one of the actives volcanoes in the country with a height of 8874.67 ft high (2.705 m). At the top of the main crater of 328 yards deep (300 m), after a 15 minutes walking, you will discover the awesome power of a volcano. Down the hill a muddy pond and bubbling sulfur are possible to see time to time. The steam escapes it is often confused with the clouds that cover the crater. Nearby, a marked trail that leads through cloud forest at Laguna Botos, a crater is now covered with water and surrounded by lush vegetation. This lush national parks are accessible to all. Lunch at a local restaurant and then; return to the capital to visit the National Theater and Gold Museum by walking tour.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 3 (Friday) San Jose / Tortuguero (2h30 drive + 1h30 boat)
Leaving early on morning to the road for the Caribbean coast passing by Braulio Carrillo National Park. By the middle of banana plantations you will board a large motorized canoe to go up the main channel to Tortuguero National Park. The park is located along the northeast coast of Costa Rica in the thinnest and most humid region of the country; it is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by a narrow strip of sable. Its isolation protects it from the ravages of civilization. Tortuguero beaches are the most important site in the area Western Caribbean for the nesting green turtles (July-October). It is therefore not surprising that "Tortuguero" is a derivative of the Spanish name designating the turtles. Check in and lunch at hotel and visit the village and the Museum of the Turtle.

Day 4 (Saturday)
Day all-inclusive stay to continue discovering the wildlife of Tortuguero by boat. The day start while taking a morning trip by the canals of the jungle, where you can find many animals such as crocodiles, turtles, sloths, monkeys, iguanas, toucans, parrots, and birds all species. Return to hotel for breakfast and then go to discover the jungle in this splendid Park by specially designed trails. Lunch at the lodge, and then continue discovering the Marine Park boat completely different atmospheres, depending on the time of day. Back at the hotel, you can use the pool and Jacuzzi. For the more adventurous, we offer possibilities for canopy tour (zip line between trees optional). Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
 
Day 5 (Sunday) Tortuguero / Arenal (1.30 ship + 4 hours 30 minutes by car)
After breakfast sail through the canals back to the heart of the banana plantations. Visit the campus of EARTH University of Agricultural Sciences that initiated the worldwide process of sustainable development for banana production, from harvesting of the fruit to the production of banana paper. Lunch and then to the impressive Arenal Volcano, passing through the plains of San Carlos to the town of La Fortuna. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 6 (Monday) Arenal / Palo Verde / Rincon de la Vieja (4 hours by road)
Breakfast and dedicated for walking at hanging bridges in an unforgettable setting, facing the volcano. The route you will use goes around the Lake Arenal to the town of Cañas. Lunch and boat trip on the Bebedero River into the green at Palo Verde Park. Then follow up to the Rincón de la Vieja and find the atmosphere of the Guanacaste cowboy or rancher who fits perfectly with the landscape of grasslands and savannas. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 7 (Tuesday) Rincón de la Vieja
Breakfast and departure to one of the most beautiful parks in Costa Rica: Rincon de la Vieja National Park. You will discover beautiful landscapes, spectacular views, a volcano that has character, peaceful rivers, spectacular waterfalls, relaxing hot springs, SPAs, hiking trails or you may be able to see many species such as iguanas, monkeys, tapirs ... Lunch included and travel to natural springs to enjoy the warm place, calm and engage in hot volcanic mud, rich in trace elements. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 8 (Wednesday) Rincon de la Vieja and San Jose (5 hours drive)
Breakfast and departure to the capital of Costa Rica, San José, or another point to rest. Lunch in route and check in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel 
 
Day 9 (Thursday) San Jose / Europe (3h00 flight)
Breakfast. Transfer back to the Juan Santamaria International Airport. Fly to France, and dinner and overnight on board.
 
Day 10 (Friday) Arrival to Europe
Breakfast on board. Arrival in Europe.

Although small in size, Costa Rica has been blessed with an immense diversity. Because of its geology and scenic routes, the condition of the road is regular routes, so journey times are quite long road between points. The pace of this circuit has been designed so that you can enjoy all the regions visited for at least two nights.
