Itinerary

 

Day 1 San Jose
Welcome to San José for your guide and transfer to your hotel. Register and night at hotel
 
Day 2 San José - Tortuguero National Park (road + 1h30 2h30 boat)
Breakfast and departure to the Caribbean coast through the mountains of Braulio Carrillo National Park. In the middle of the banana plantations you will ship on a large motorized canoe up the canals that runs along the coast to the Tortuguero National Park. The Caribbean coast is a wonderful example of the biodiversity of Costa Rica. Tortuguero, a true "Amazon" offers a change of scenery and the chance to explore the rainforest by boat. Tortuguero beaches are the most important site in the western Caribbean for the green turtles nesting (July-October). Hence the name Tortuguero. Check in at the hotel. Lunch and then visit the town and the Museum of the Turtle.

Day 3 Day Tortuguero
In the all inclusive lodge you will continue by boat discovering the flora and fauna of Tortuguero. The day begins at sunshine hiking on the trails of the lodge where you can see many animals back to the hotel for breakfast. Later in the morning, put one foot in the jungle and walk the trails of Tortuguero. Lunch at the hotel and then discover the marine park with completely different environments, depending on time of day. Back at the lodge to can enjoy the pool and jacuzzi. For the adventurous ones, we offer the opportunity for a canopy tour (optional).

Day 4: Tortuguero / Sarapiqui (1h00 by boat 2 hours 30 minutes drive)
Breakfast and boat trip. Then bus to Guápiles. Lunch.
Aerialtram Tour on the treetops and frog. The aerialtram is part of the attractions and work of a private nature reserve of 475 hectares, which shares a border with 10 miles of Braulio. In the middle of the rainforest, you will fly above the trees on open shelves for 6 people with a bilingual naturalist guide. It is an extraordinary opportunity to see the forest from above and its natural splendor before it is exploited by man. The guide will show you the different aspects of tropical forest land to the treetops. You'll discover how colorful tropical flowers, plants and trees that have never seen before, together form a complete ecosystem. The cable covers a distance of 2.6 km, equivalent to 5% of the reserve, the tour takes about an hour twenty minutes at 2km/hour step; fully exploring this exciting part of the forest. It includes a visit to the butterfly and the frog garden in captivity where yoy can see the most exotic species in the area.

Day 5: Breakfast and departure for rafting tour class I on the Sarapiqui River with lunch during the tour.

Day 6.
Route across the plains to the town of San Carlos in the Maleku Indigenous Reserve to explore their culture. You share a meal with them, after the return to La Fortuna you will see the Arenal Volcano.

Day 7 Arenal
After breakfast, morning dedicated a walk on the hanging bridges in front of the volcano in an unforgettable atmosphere. Lunch and then an opportunity to explore the Arenal Volcano National Park, you should stay on marked trails of the volcano remains very active. Enjoy swimming in the beautiful gardens Ecothermal ant take diner there with warm water which cascades down from the volcano at 102° F (39° C). If time allows, will help in this wonderful scene, the spectacle of incandescent lava flows that ran along the slopes of the volcano.
Night stay at the hotel.
 
Day 8 Arenal Volcano National Park / Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio (3h00 drive)
Breakfast and then departure to the Pacific coast. Gradually change to become a tropical climate near the Pacific coast. The boat tour will discover crocodiles Tárcoles River. Lunch in the Pacific. In the afternoon, departure to Manuel Antonio and check in at the hotel.

Day 9 Manuel Antonio National Park
After breakfast, visit the famous Manuel Antonio National Park is one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. Monkeys and iguanas keep you company while bathing in water at 28° C average. Then walk through the jungle. The trails will help you reach a rocky outcrop overlooking the white sandy beaches. Manuel Antonio, a small complex in vogue and protected National Park at a time, is undoubtedly a magical place to observe animal life and especially lazy raccoons, agoutis, monkeys, capuchin monkeys and small squirrels. Lunch in a restaurant before the beach; and the afternoon will be off to enjoy the beaches. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 10 Manuel Antonio / San Jose
Breakfast and return to the Valley Central, lunch en route - for your return flight home.
