ARENAL VOLCANO (National Park)
Only 3 hours away from San Jose, the Arenal is a beautiful cone-shaped volcano, rising from the bordering plains. It is on of the country's most active volcanoes. During the day, clouds of ash and smoke frequently fill the sky above the crater. At night, on a clear weather, smoke and stones erupt into the sky and come back down over the cone. Falling rocks and dark smoke through the clouds are an unforgettable experience.
